2015 Scholarship Winner - Haleigh Moman
Have you ever wanted something so bad that it hurt? Being an equestrian is not just a hobby, it is my life-long dream. I have wanted this ever sense I was a little girl and began riding at the age of four. Consideration for this scholarship would help me to achieve my dreams.
The first reason I need this scholarship is because being an equestrian is literally my life. I eat, breathe, and sleep horses. All the hard work I put into it, all the hard times that come with it, all the failures, and all the successes are worth everything I go through.
The second reason I need this scholarship is because it would help me pay my way to Regionals and possibly Nationals at 4h this year. I have won at state level twice, making it to Regionals two years in a row.
The third reason I need it is because if I don’t qualify for Regionals again this year, it will go towards a roping saddle, that I desperately need, considering I live on a cattle farm. I do a lot of roping, bull-dogging, and steering calves with my barrel saddle. I’m waiting for my tree to break at any second when I work in it.
I do all-around with my horses, and currently have a yearling in for training waiting to be broke once he turns two. I do timed events (bringing home checks in barrels), English pleasure, western pleasure, horsemanship, equitation, showmanship, halter, dressage, NATRC, Professional Obstacle Courses (also bringing home checks in youth division) and train colts on my main horse, Little Man.
I really want to make something out of myself in the horse industry and I believe I deserve this scholarship because I have worked very hard over the last seven years to get where I am today.
